Beginner-Friendly Hands-On Bootcamp

Introduction

A 20-hour beginner-friendly bootcamp introducing Linux fundamentals through hands-on practice. Participants will learn to confidently navigate the Linux terminal, manage files, users, and processes, and write simple Bash scripts. The course is focused on Ubuntu and is designed for learners with basic computer literacy but no prior Linux experience. By the end, participants will be able to use Linux effectively in personal, academic, or professional contexts.

  • Use the terminal confidently: navigation, file management, search
  • Apply shell features: wildcards, pipes, redirects, environment variables
  • Edit files with nano and vim basics
  • Manage users, groups, and permissions
  • Monitor and manage processes
  • Install and update software with apt
  • Write basic Bash scripts for automation (variables, conditionals, loops)
  • Perform small projects such as automated backups and system reports
